"Super" Trip

Lil' Colts FanSo, a week or so before Christmas I got a phone call from my best friend's wife, Wendy, asking me what my plans were for the Super Bowl in February? I said that I was probably going to have a small party at my house with some friends, why? She then told me her idea for her husband's Christmas present and I wholeheartedly agreed. On Christmas morning, I got a phone call from BJ saying "Dude, I opened up my Christmas present this morning and it was YOU!" Wendy had bought me a plane ticket to come up to Oregon to watch the Super Bowl at their house! I thought that was one of the coolest presents she could have gotten me too! I only get to see BJ usually if he's coming to Oklahoma to visit family so it was a pleasant surprise to get to travel to see him this time.

After the Colts won the AFC Championship by defeating their arch rivals the Patriots in a nail bitter two weeks before the "big game", my brother decided he wanted to go to Oregon as well to watch the game with BJ and I. So he bought him a ticket to go but the only flight back was through Chicago which, whether the Colts won or lost, it would be an inhospitable place for any Colts fan b/c he's the enemy. We both got aboard our seperate planes and was on our way. On my flight, I got upgraded to 1 seat away from first class b/c someone wanted to sit with their family in my old seat. Absolutely awesome for me b/c the legroom was so spacious that I would have looked ridiculous streching my feet that far in front of me just to touch the wall. :) Good times. Check out the picture above. My brother, the mega Colts fan, was shopping for the future Mrs. Right at the Dallas Airport during his 2 hour layover. He was taking pictures of this girl with his camera phone and upon zooming in noticed she had a ring on. He was so sad. His criteria for Mrs Right, so far, involves the girl wearing a Colts jersey and a Sooners hat. Haha! Keep looking Terry and good luck... Anyway, we both eventually made it to Oregon with a little jet lag but were otherwise in good shape.

Tzilla & WhiteyOnce we got there, we played a lot of XBOX 360 LIVE against stangers on the internet all weekend long. BJ and Terry's screen names were "Tzilla and Whitey". :) Anyway, Wendy was such a good host, she cooked for us and made sure we had batch after batch of freshly baked cookies and snacks! I literally gained 5 extra pounds in those two full days I was there. Good times. The Superbowl party was awesome! We were able to see Peyton and the Colts go on to take victory over W-R-E-C-K-S Grossman and Duh Bears, which just made a wonderful weekend that much better. We kept screaming everytime there was a turnover in the "Fumble Bowl" and unfortunately, Lilyanah was trying to go to sleep and we kept waking her up. Sorry Lily... We had an awesome time (except during The Artist Formerly Known as The Artist Formerly Known as Prince... maybe he should be called just The Artist?) during the game. The next morning we had to get up stupid early 3:30 am to make it to the airport in time to catch our flights. I made it home alright but my brother had some luggage troubles which eventually got straightened out. All in all, a great trip and an awesome time seing my best friend.

Wilma ThiasSpeaking of my best friend, I have to share a story he told. It's completely embarrasing but I know he'll forgive me for telling it... I hope. :) Okay, so BJ got himself the new Nike running shoes that come with a pedometer that links to your IPOD to keep track of your miles you've ran and so on. The only problem was that BJ didn't have an IPOD so he had to go buy one of those too. So BJ brought the IPOD to work and was in his office by himself listening to his tunes. He had routed the wires through his shirt and had the IPOD inside his front shirt pocket, out of the way so nobody could see. He went to turn up the sound on the IPOD when he looked up and saw his boss giving him the craziest and strangest look BJ had ever seen him give before. BJ thought about it a second and realized what had happened. If you know how to turn up the volume on an IPOD, you know that you have to rub your fingers in a circular motion around the motion sensitive part to make it change. When his boss walked by, he didn't know BJ had an IPOD in his shirt pocket and it looked like he was rubbing his... um, nipple... by himself in the office! And since the IPOD was covered by the fabric of his shirt pocket, apparently BJ was rubbing it pretty hard, which made the appearance all that much worse! Haha! When BJ told me this story, I about died laughing. :) BJ is the only person I know in the whole world that this stuff happens to all the time. But maybe thats why we all love him so much.

Hope you enjoyed that last story as much as I did. I'll write again soon. Hope everyone had a great Valentine's day! God bless!

Jason

Hey J, I read this entry quite awhile ago but was in a hurry & didn't comment. I'm so glad you guys got to come & had a good time! It's always such a blessing to have you around! That's crazy about the name Ethne. I loved it & brought it up as a name for Lilyanah but Will wasn't impressed. For some crazy reason when I brought it up again for this little loo whoo he was totally on board & is 100% sold on it! I'm glad you like it too though. I get such varying responses. . . Anyway, I hope all is well in the Fox household & thanks so much for the prayers you send up on our behalf! ~Wendy.
