There has been so much that has happened this past week. I'm sorry I haven't been able to write but I think I have a chance today to go over some of it. We'll see. :)
First off, I have to tell you guys about my best friend's wife, Wendy. As many of you know, when she was pregnant with Lilyanah, she was having major abdominal pains which were not going away. The doctors, after testing and whatnot, decided to induce labor to minimize any chances of harm to the baby. On January 17th, (also my dad's birthday), Lilyanah was born weighing just 4lb 9ozs. She spent the next several weeks in the NICU while she was getting healthy enough to go home. But things were much worse with her mom. The next day after Wendy went through labor, the doctors went in to see what was going on with her abdominal section.
That's when the bad news came. Wendy had a softball-sized mass in her intestines and masses in other areas as well. It was cancer... and it was spreading fast. When the doctors had found it, they estimated it was only less than 3 months old and it was one of the fastest growing kinds there was. I'm going to give you guys the short version but you are more than welcome to check out the entire story on their blog by clicking here.
After several trips to the doc for rounds of chemo, and with numerous prayers from brothers and sisters in christ across the nation, they just found out yesterday they Wendy is CANCER FREE!!!!!!! Talk about a miracle! Trust me, I saw the pictures of the cancer inside Wendy when I took my trip up there in February. It was one of the most nightmarish pictures I've ever seen. I will NEVER forget what it looked like. And to hear that God has cured Wendy? Man, I'm tearing up even now as I write this. Congratulations Wendy! What a serious blessing! God still has major plans for your life Wendy and I cannot wait to see what He has planned! I am so happy for you. What a hero you are for your family and baby girl.
Wow, okay, what's next. Oh yeah, my beautiful wife walked across the stage last Friday night, May 5th. It was a great day. She dressed up in her cap and gown and walked (gracefully) into the world of being a "grown-up". Haha One quirky note about that night: We went to eat at On The Border right afterwards and during dinner, we saw a drunken Chad Stevens running around. You know, the guy from the Fowler Honda commercial's? "C'moooooon!" Haha He kept going back and forth to the bar and his table. Quite funny.
Some more baby news. Kimi had to take a glucose test last week to see if she has "gestational diabetes". It was an hour long test where they made her drink a cup of almost pure sugar and waited to see how her body reacted. She said it tasted like super sweet fruit punch. Apparently the baby thought otherwise because Kimi said she was kicking like crazy the whole time she was there! Our baby's first sugar high, awww... Haha
Well, she didn't pass the first round so they had her take it again. She went in yesterday morning and this time it was a three hour test. The gave her the sugar drink again, the baby went crazy once more, and Kimi watched "The View" until her time was up. They stuck her 4 times and withdrew blood to see how her body was reacting over time. We don't have the results back yet but we would apprecaite your prayers. We don't know what happens if she actually does have gestational diabetes and we hope we never have to find out either!
We do have one more prayer request. My dad's father-in-law who lives in Prague, OK, passed away this past week. It's a really tough situation for them right now and they could sure use everyone's prayers. If you want to send an email with your thoughts and prayers, you can send it here.
Kimi and I are heading down to Texas this weekend for much needed time away from home. Hopefully, we can see Mission Impossible III this weekend! I've been going crazy waiting to watch that movie so hopefully it's all that it's cracked up to be! Hope you weekend is a great one too!

I just loved this picture of our dog Hudson. He does some of the funniest things sometimes. Haha Enjoy!
"Hudson says, Hey, what's happening??"

I read this last week but didn't comment, I'm sorry! Especially since you were so sweet & shared our wonderful news! I have to say I was a little surprised to see a picture of me on your blog! So, have you picked a name for your little one? Also, Will & I may be heading out with our sweet baby this summer. Most likely we will but ticket prices are really high right now! (upper 400's!) Yuck! Anyway, we love you guys & really enjoy catching up on everything on your blog! Congratulations to Kimi on your recent graduation & newfound employment! Wendy.
